Mayberry Days

Well I just got back from my first trip in Mt. Airy. It was alot of fun. It was me, my mom, my dad, and of course Lucy. She was such a jerk. Everyone LOVES her! "Aw! look at that cute puppy in the dress!" "Aww! Is she friendly? Can we pet her?" Yea, that's how it was the whole time. We went to Mayberry days in the small town of Mt. Airy (the home town of Andy Griffith)and they had tons of Andy Griffith lovers and apparently dog lovers walking the streets. We had so much fun. They even had ducks at the camp ground we stayed at that we got to feed. One had a wounded leg and he limped around and swam really slow. We left on Wednesday and came back today (Saturday). I had two fried apple pies, ice cream, dr. pepper, cheerwine, Snappy pork chop sandwich, popcorn, jelly beans, and a hot dog in the town. The last two days we were there it was rainy and cold. The parade at the end was pretty neat too. On Friday my dad got a hair cut at Floyd's Barber Shop. It took the sweet old man like an hour to cut my dad's half an inch of hair. Floyd's Barber Shop is to the right of Snappy Lunch which is the only still-running restaurant that was operated during the time that Andy Griffith was growing up. We saw alot of the characters from the show like Betty Lynn (Thelma Lou), Jackie Joseph (Romena), Maggie Peterson (Charlene Darling), and we saw David Morris which is the son of Howard Morris (Ernest T.Bass) Most of the characters passed on and Andy Griffith never makes an appearance. We are leaving again tomorrow for Mt. Airy but we're dropping my dad and picking up Marina, Grandma, and Aunt Betty. So it'll be me, my mom, Lucy, Marina, Grandma, and Aunt Betty yea wow it's gonna be crazy. I really wanted to put some pictures of our trip on here but I had some technical difficulties so I'll put some from the Internet now and some later from my camera!

Flower Power

If were a flower, I'd plant myself were the sun shines all the time. I'd plant my self were the sun shines all the time and right beside a river. I could drink and drink and drink all day and soak up all the sunshine until there was no sun left for anyone. If I were a flower, I'd live on a deserted island.....near the sun and beside my river. I'd live on a deserted island so that no one would bother me or step on me or try to pick me. I'd be the best, prettiest flower ever and I would never die. I'd live forever. Now that I think about it, I'd be all alone! No one but myself, the sun, and the water! Maybe I could make friends with a tree and he could stay on the island with me and be my bff. wait if I make friends with a tree he will block my sunlight. I know, I'll make friends with another flower and he could stay on the island with me and be my bff. Wait if I make friends with a flower he will soak up all my sun and drink up all my water! I have a great idea! I could make friends with a cloud and he could stay on the island with me and be my bff. Oh wait if I make friends with a cloud he will block my sun, drink all my water, and take up my whole island. Maybe I should just stay planted in my pot.

OK so to start off my random babbling, there is a new freecreditreport.com comercial. I've only seen it once but when I see it again I'll try to post it. I think that Free Credit Report owes me ($$$) for advertising for them. Anyways this week at school was especialy boring. First we had IOWA testing (no I dont know why we have to take the IOWA test in NC) and that was miserably terrible. Then on Thursday. I just sneezed. We had to go to all our classes again and learn boring stuff. Then on Friday we had the back to school dance. It was ok. Nothing too exciting though. This weekend was groovey though. Me and mkl baby sat baby Gia on Saturday and she spent the night and we played with playdough!! Yea I think that I have an obsession. Wow I think that I want some ice cream. I hope your happy now Lady!! (ilu lady) ; )

The History of Play-Doh

Play-Doh is made of Water, Starch-based binder, Retrogradation inhibitor, Salt, Lubricant, Surfactant, Preservative, Hardener, Humectant, Fragrance, and Color. But what I don't understand is that on the label it says Notice to parents: Contains wheat.
Play-Doh was invented in 1956. It has become so popular that since then, they have sold over 2 billion cans. When it was first invented it only came in off white and it was in a cardboard can. It was also meant to be used as a wallpaper cleaner. But because it was non-toxic and so flexible, Joe McVicker decided to take his creation to a younger level, little kids. In the class rooms, the wall paper cleaner was used to model things and create things of every size, shape, and form. When the reaction to his invention and the kids was such a big hit, he decided to ship off his creation to schools all over Cincinnati. Alittle bit after that Joe's new product was showcased at a national education convention. The product took off and soon department stores began taking a huge interest. The first store that Joe's product was sold in was Woodward & Lothrop Department Store in Washington, D.C. Since then modifications have been made and and are continuing to be made. Play-doh is a fun creation for kids all over the world and it tastes good too ; ) don't worry its non-toxic and wont hurt anyone.
